Family 1st Medical is supported by dedicated professionals, including Holly Mitchell, a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE), and Branch Co-ordinator of Family 1st’s Bedford location. Holly’s passion for helping patients makes her a valuable asset to the team, ensuring that those seeking respiratory solutions receive high-quality care and support.
Holly graduated from Dalhousie University’s Respiratory Therapy Program in 2004. In 2007, she completed specialized education in asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), earning her certification as a Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE). Holly is dedicated to empowering both patients and care providers, understanding that knowledge is a vital tool in managing respiratory conditions. She takes the time to explain information in a way that is both informative and easy to understand.
Holly brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care. What truly sets Holly apart is her personable nature. She has a unique ability to connect with each patient, making them feel comfortable and understood from the moment they walk through the door. Family 1st’s clients appreciate not only her expertise but also her genuine compassion and the positive impact she has on their lives.
Family 1st is committed to fostering the next generation of Respiratory Therapists. We actively participate in the clinical education of aspiring Respiratory Therapists, offering shadowing opportunities to students from Dalhousie University. Holly is one of the Respiratory Therapists who plays a pivotal role in this program. She’s passionate about providing them with hands-on experience and exposure to the diverse roles and responsibilities that Respiratory Therapists undertake within various community settings. This immersive approach ensures students graduate with practical skills and an understanding of the real-world impact they can make.
