Family 1st Medical Announces Luke Folker as PERS Coordinator & IT Support
Family 1st is thrilled to announce the appointment of Luke Folker to the position of Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) Coordinator and IT Support. This full-time position represents a significant milestone in Luke’s career with Family 1st. He has proven himself to be a dedicated, hardworking, and knowledgeable, member of our team.
Luke recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Having been with Family 1st intermittently for the past eight years, he has received training across various roles within the company. Luke has had the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Family 1st’s products, services, and the unique needs of our clients – an asset that will prove invaluable in his new position.
Luke’s primary focus will be Family 1st’s Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS). “A Family 1st Medical PERS is a device that clients wear and activate if they require assistance. People sometimes refer to them as a fall detection device or medical alert button,” he explains. Luke also played a pivotal role in the implementation of Family 1st’s Active Lifestyle GPS PERS, introduced in 2022. “It’s a fantastic device that doesn’t rely on a landline phone like our other ‘classic’ systems do. Our Active Lifestyle GPS PERS works anywhere there is adequate cellular service, providing clients with peace of mind as they maintain their freedom and active lifestyles,” he adds.
In addition to his PERS responsibilities, Luke will use his technical skills to address Family 1st’s IT and computer needs. His duties include server and email maintenance, staff tech support, and physical hardware repairs. “As someone who has always had a passion for technology, I find it both interesting and rewarding to work closely with our PERS solutions while also assisting my colleagues in ensuring our computer systems operate at their best,” he says.
Reflecting on his journey, Luke shares, “It’s hard to believe that I started working with Family 1st when I was in high school, only working Saturdays doing miscellaneous tasks. I am proud to work for a company that values and prioritizes the growth of its employees. I look forward to continuing my journey with Family 1st as we strive to make positive impacts in the lives of our clients.”
