Important Information about COVID-19 safety measures

Booking Appointments

The current process for booking appointments over the phone remains in place. You will be screened to ensure that you have no cold or flu-like symptoms such as a fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough, nasal congestion of shortness of breath that are unrelated to a known or pre-existing condition.

You will be asked if you’ve had contact with anyone that has a presumptive or confirmed case of COVID-19, or if you have traveled outside the province in the last 14 days.

On the day of your appointment, if there have been any changes to your screening, please call to reschedule.

Physical Distancing

In an effort to help manage physical distancing within our waiting area we ask that you enter the building at your appointment time and that you do not come in early.

Unless absolutely necessary, please do not bring additional people to your appointment with you.

We also ask that you continue to adhere to the six-foot social distancing measures currently in place

Sanitizing

Upon entering our building, you will be asked to sanitize your hands. Our staff may be wearing masks.

Clients are encouraged to wear a barrier mask if they have one.

Assessment and treatment rooms are thoroughly sanitized after each use, and public areas are frequently sanitized throughout the day.

Remote Service Continues Where Necessary

Please remember that if you wish, we can continue to service your needs remotely where possible.

Many items such as CPAP masks and replacement parts, mobility items and compression support can be ordered by phone.

We will also continue to offer contactless curbside pickup.

Home Oxygen

We are continuing to do regular oxygen assessments remotely where possible. As always, home oxygen services are available 24 hours daily.

Family 1st Medical is an essential service and remains open. The health and safety of our clients is our top priority and we continue to follow our strict COVID-19 protocols. As always, you will be screened before any appointment and masks remain mandatory at all times within each of our locations.

Please remember that masks are not a replacement for physical distancing so it’s still necessary to maintain a distance of two meters (six feet) where possible.

It is also important to continue frequent hand washing, practice respiratory etiquette and avoid touching your mask and face. We want to do everything we can to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19.

If you require supplies and do not feel comfortable coming into the office you can pre-pay by credit card and arrangements can be made to have the items delivered to your vehicle.
